About

Aimee Yasin, LPC-MHSP: Co-Founder and Lead Counselor

Too often life is full of turning points- times when you have to start over or make a big decision, whether by choice or circumstance. Change is hard, whether it’s expected or not. Support and empowerment are both keys to not only surviving, but also using these experiences to make you stronger. With these keys, the turning points in life can be maneuvered successfully.

I am certified by the state of Tennessee as a licensed professional counselor with a mental health service provider designation, which means I’m qualified to work with a wide scope of issues. I have over ten years of experience in various mental health settings. I’ve worked at residential treatment facilities, home-based services, community mental health agencies, and crisis services. My experience includes children, teenagers, and adults, ages 6-55. I have experience providing individual, family, and couples counseling. I have supported goals ranging from stress management and anxiety reduction, to trauma processing and crisis de-escalation. My passion is supporting others as they work through challenging experiences and exploring new tools to be successful.

The goal of Crossroads Counseling Services is to help you find your direction. Whether that means getting back on your original path or discovering a new one. Your journey is unique and special. I would be honored to be a part of it.

Emily Rhoads, LPC Intern

Do you have questions swirling in your head about where you are and where you want to be? Do you feel like you don’t have any idea where to start or what steps to take to reach the life you want for yourself? These are common concerns at any age and stage of life and exploring these questions is one of the many benefits of seeing a counselor. As your counselor, my job is to walk with you through the ebbs and flows of daily life as you work towards your goals. It is not my job to push you into a mold or to change who you are. You are the expert in your own life and counseling is a journey we take together.

My work with clients is primarily focused around cognitive-behavioral approaches to counseling – we may not have control over much in our lives, but we can choose to change the messages we are sending ourselves and the behaviors that reinforce them. However, my goal is to follow the approach that works best for you at any given time – flexibility is key!

No one wants to enter a new relationship and be judged for the things they are thinking and feeling. My goal as your counselor will be to make you feel accepted and seen throughout our work together. As an intern, I offered low cost, short-term therapy services to accommodate those who are otherwise unable to afford mental health services. If you are ready to take the next step toward making your everyday life look more like your ideal, I am so excited about the chance to go on the journey with you!
